Actor Katherine Heigl is opening her mind about being raised in a "white bubble" and how this realization has affected how she parents her adopted multiracial children. In an interview, the "Firefly Lane", as well as "Grey's Anatomy" actress admitted that her appearance didn't concern her, however, after having a conversation with her adoptive sister from South Korea about how society treated them, she became aware of how much different their lives were. "I I asked my sister Meg whether she'd received the same treatment when she went out in public with our parents and a different way when she was out alone without them. She answered, "Oh yeah, always!" Heigl spoke to Parents about how she realized her naivet . She said that she was frustrated and thought it was important to focus the anger she felt on her adoptee daughters. Heigl's husband Josh Kelley and their son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr., 4, have been together for thirteen years. The couple adopted Nancy Leigh (age 12) from South Korea and Adalaide (age 8) with a black complexion and was adopted in 2009.
